I have a new Verizon Router and now I can’t geolocate on my device. What can I do?

If you have one of the new Verizon routers and have subsequently been unable to geolocate, you have come to the right place. This is due to with the default DNS configuration settings, which blocks key functions of GeoComply. Follow this step-by-step guide to manually alter your DNS settings, allowing GeoComply to function normally. How to Change DNS Settings using “Settings”

1. Open up Settings in the Windows Menu

2. Click on “Network and Internet”


3. Click on “Wi-Fi” and select the network that you’re on.



4. Scroll down and click on “IP Settings”


5. Select “Manual” and select “IPv4". Then type in your preferred DNS settings

Cloudflare: 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1


Google Public DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4


OpenDNS: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220

6. Click save. Then connect to your internet. Your geolocation issues caused by the DNS settings of your router should be resolved. If you’re still having geolocation issues, please join us in live chat!

On iOS Devices

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Network.
  2. In the list at the left, select the network connection service you want to use (such as Wi-Fi or Ethernet), then click Advanced.
  3. Click DNS, then click the Add button  at the bottom of the DNS Servers list. Enter the IPv4 or IPv6 address for the DNS server.
  4. Click the Add button  at the bottom of the Search Domain list, then enter the search domain—for example, apple.com.
  5. When you’re finished, click OK.
